Services Suspended Until Further Notice
ALL SUNDAY AND MIDWEEK SERVICES SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Because we deeply care about the health and safety of our people we have decided to be proactive and to err on the side of caution. We are suspending all Sunday worship and midweek Life Groups until further notice starting Sunday, March 15th, in light of the spread of COVID-19 virus in our communities. We will keep everyone updated via phone, text, social media, and this website.
When we look at the rising level of fear in our communities regarding COVID-19, it would be easy to judge the worth or validity of people’s response based on our own feelings. If we are not careful, we view our feelings as the measure of what should be “normal” and judge others on that basis. If I tend to feel little or no fear, my natural inclination may be to think that others must be over-afraid, overreacting, or over-sensitive. If I feel a great deal of fear, then I may judge those with less fear as being less caring, calloused, or ignorant. Let’s be mindful to exercise love and patience with one another during this season.
Large groups of people are how any contagious illness spreads most quickly – many people exposed in one place who then go and expose others at another venue, who then go to yet other events exposing even more folks, and so on. Like compounding interest, it snowballs very quickly. This is good for investments, bad when applied to viral contagions. If we limit group gatherings and events, fewer people will be exposed and the spread slows down significantly, thus stamping it out more quickly and saving more lives of the most vulnerable among us. It’s a short-term inconvenience, with a long-term gain.
We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and communicate further information to our church family via our One Call phone system, text messages, Facebook, and our website. Continue in prayer for our community and for one another.
I love each one of you!
